The section Transmission Testing is a part of the department Transmission Engineering and is responsible for delivering verified gearbox and transmission components to the Volvo Cars Powertrain projects. The main components are automatic and manual gearboxes, shifter systems, clutch systems, driveshafts, AWD systems and Electric Rear Axle Drive (ERAD). The main challenges for the components are efficiency, weight, low engine rpm, drivability, customer interface and AWD properties. The section consists of 12 engineers. These test engineers performs component-, system-, and rig tests and together with the components team they decide whether or not the transmission systems are verified. We are now looking for a Test Engineer for PowerShift Transmissions.
As Test Engineer you will be working with testing of transmission components and systems in both test cars and rigs. This role will also involve close cooperation with our suppliers.
Main responsibilities
• Analysis and verification of components and system
• Review of supplier testing for components and systems
• Development of test methods
• Load collective measurements
Required qualifications
• B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical or equivalent
• Experience of using modern test tool and test methods
• Experience of documenting results
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Driving License B (Driving license for car with trailer (BE) is meritorious)
• Knowledge in PowerShift transmissions is meritorious
