The VCC Technical Specialist Program is a critical contributor to the implementation of strategies for technological leadership.
The purpose with the program is to:

Facilities, Tooling and Equipment, Body is one of the departments within Manufacturing Engineering Body at Volvo Cars Manufacturing Engineering (VCME). We develop and implement quality-assured, flexible and effective production systems and equipment solutions in our Body in White plants. Our task at FT&E is to develop robust equipment solutions with high reliability, we also lead the installations projects in our plants.
We are now looking for a Technical Expert - Adhesive Bonding Process. You will be a member of the ME Body team and report directly to Manager FT&E (Facilities Tooling & Equipment). The position will be within the business area Manufacturing and be located in Gothenburg or Gent.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
Deliver on annual basis a documented Vision, Mission & Strategy within Adhesive Bonding processes
Deliver on annual basis a Benchmark report covering competitors, suppliers, authorities, etc
Deliver TCP (Technical Cycle Plan) within Adhesive Bonding Process area
Deliver Research work to define New Requirement Specifications and Corresponding Verification/Validation Method
Secure Technology Readiness by Initiating and supervise Advanced Engineering and EU projects
Secure Process, Methods & Tools Readiness by initiating and supervise Operational Development projects
Initiate annual studies
Actively support concept studies
On request advice line and project management in technical matters from the point of view "What is best for Volvo Cars"
Support engineering
Support in contacts with suppliers
Support quality assurance and fault tracing activities
On request participate in cross-functional work, e.g. when defining superior system level, commonality work, etc
Be a Go-to Person
Secure succession by proactively provide mentoring, coaching, etc
Propose to applicable PDC successor for Technical Specialist position in question
Proactively inform adjacent areas when content in own area of Adhesive Bonding Process changes
Deliver education material and carry through education within Adhesive Bonding Process
Deliver applications for research and innovation projects which are co-financed by the authorities
Develop and maintain relations with universities through supervision of doctorate programs, thesis works etc
Proactively participate in standardization work
Proactively participate in seminars, conferences and conventions
On request support in contacts with authorities, e.g. in legal matters
On request support PR/PA on press events, interviews, etc
Formal qualifications and personal qualities:
University degree, minimum bachelor's degree, preferably in Chemistry
Minimum 10 years of experience within relevant area
Extensive Experience from Research (Requirement/Methods, Concept development, Engineering or Analysis & Verification)
Extensive experience from Innovation on Technology
Experience from representing Volvo Cars in research programs, e.g. FFI Program Boards, Advisory Boards, Dep. Boards etc
