Job Description
The Group GAAP Manager, as part of our Group Accounting Team, will provide expert technical accounting advice and accounting policy expertise across the IFS Group to ensure the Group is compliant with IFRS Accounting standards. it will also ensure new reporting requirements are timely and accurately implemented across all areas of the IFS Group incl. the financial reporting. Will also be working with a wide range of stakeholders across the business to conclude on the correct treatment for complex transactions that require a high level of accounting judgment, including acquisitions. It will also support any group companies with their conversion to IFRS by establishing IFRS adjustments where required.
IFRS and GAAP Technical Expertise:
Provide expert technical accounting advice and ensure the Group is compliant with IFRS Accounting standards.
Ensure new IFRS requirements are timely and accurately implemented across all impacted areas in the IFS Group incl. the financial reporting.
Providing technical accounting training, including materials, to colleagues as required.
Key contact for Finance and the wider business to assess the accounting treatment of proposed transactions under IFRS across the IFS Group.
Undertaking and managing technical accounting analysis on proposed corporate transactions e.g., merger and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, R&D capitalisation, Non-GAAP measure etc.
Ensure transactions and other accounting judgments are documented in a clear and consistent manner with sufficient evidence to support the accounting treatment.
Ensure such documentation is reviewed internally by all agreed internal stakeholders as required prior formal communication.
Liaise with Group's external auditors to ensure they agree with our judgements/conclusions.
Complete ownership and management of Group accounting policies under IFRS, review/update current policies and identify the need for new accounting policies as well.
Review the accounting policies of any new acquisitions and align them to IFS Group IFRS policies , including identifying and calculating any required adjustments.
Support subsidiaries with conversion to IFRS, incl. adjustments where required.
For Group subsidiaries not reporting under IFRS, identify and agree IFRS Adjustments.
Lead on projects as required, working on ad hoc initiatives and opportunities.
Ensure complete understanding and complying with the Group Accounting risks/controls.
Support local Finance teams on queries under local reporting where possible.
Supports the preparation of the annual financial statements as required.
Support tax reporting, audit queries and other year end requirements as required.
Qualifications
Essential:
Qualified Accountant or local equivalent
Specialist knowledge of applying IFRS and GAAP
Previous technical accounting experience from BIG 4 or equivalent
Fluency in business-level English language
Desirable:
US GAAP/Swedish GAAP
IFS Cloud
Competence:
Excellent standard of technical accounting
Attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines
Ability to learn new things quickly and hit the ground running
Willingness to work outside of comfort zone
Positive attitude and a team player
Excellent communications skills
