hela Sverige The Global R&D/E function within Sandvik Mining and Construction (SMC) is now looking for a System Safety & Risk Assessment Specialist.
This position is new and will preferably be located in Sandviken, Sweden, but other locations are possible. You will work in an international environment and some travelling will be required. You will report to Manager Product Development Process.
Key performance areas
The goal of the position is to develop and implement a systematic approach to the management of product-related risks to ensure that SMC delivers world-class product safety with reference to current and future requirements. You will develop and implement system safety, functional safety and risk assessment methods and related tools in order to optimize the safety of our products. Priorities for the start-up of this position are:
• Lead the development and implementation of an SMC global system safety/functional safety analysis method and process for defining and establishing the safety level of a product and its systems, sub-systems and components.
• Manage competence development and implementation of system safety and risk assessment methods throughout SMC.
• Foster a product safety culture involving different cultures and interest groups.
• Monitor global development of system safety, risk assessment, benchmarking and product safety processes and methods.
• Contribute to, and support SMC staff in, the development of safe, ergonomically and environmentally friendly products.
In this position you will work in an international environment and some travelling will be required. You will report to Manager Product Development Process.
Your profile
As the ideal candidate for this position you have a university degree in a technical area and preferably more than 7 years experience from similar positions. Experience of working in a global environment is highly valued, as is experience in the use of different system safety, functional safety and risk assessment methodologies in complex systems, including control systems.
You are familiar with relevant directives, legislations, ISO standards, and Australian and other national safety standards, such as those of ANSI. You have excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain the context and interpretation of legislation in discussions with people who have a broad range of technical experience and different cultural backgrounds.
To succeed in this position you will need to have strong personal motivation, excellent self-confidence, proven system safety, functional safety and risk assessment skills and the ability to take a holistic view. As a person you are organized, flexible, a strong ambassador, and enjoy achieving your goals through networking. Fluency, both written and verbal, in English is a prerequisite, as English is the corporate language of the Sandvik Group.
