We are looking for a new colleague as System Safety Engineer in Interior Systems.
Interior Systems is a part of the Interior Trim & Systems department consisting of approximately 120 engineers organized into groups developing components and functions within the following areas: Interior Systems, Interior Light, Floor systems, Compartment Trim, Overhead system, Police & Customized cars, Accessories, and Interior Rear Trim.
Interior Systems' main focus is the Detection of persons within the car, Overhead console, and Reading lamps.
What 's in it for you
As System Safety Engineer (SSE), you will be involved in all levels of product development from participating in strategic planning for the group, partner/suppliers selection, review of System Safety Statement of Work (SS-SOW), and initial concept design to production launch. As a member of a shared service team within the agile organization, you will support the whole ART Interior Trim & Systems with all system safety activities. It will involve interfacing with a variety of teams including electrical engineering and customers, suppliers, and technical partners.
In this role, you will support and perform various safety analyses at function, system, hardware, and software levels. You will collaborate with development teams to design solutions and ensure the fulfillment of standards and robust design.
What you will do
You get the opportunity to drive the development of functional and technical safety concepts within the subsystems, software, and hardware. You will lead functional safety engineering activities for product development teams and develop technical work products. You will be writing safety cases, and project safety plans and conducting a system safety joint review. And when needed you will provide work products for safety argumentation (i.e. traceability metrics, complexity measurement) and safety analysis (i.e. FTA, FMEA., Freedom of interferences at hardware and software level).
You and your skills
We are looking for someone with an M.Sc. or B.Sc. within Electrical, Mechatronic Engineering, or a similar area. You have documented experience from working with safety cases and safety plans as well as knowledge of safety activities and deliveries according to ISO 26262. You also have knowledge about system and function design for the automotive industry.
Furthermore, familiarity with OEM functional safety processes including FMEA, FTA, DIA, Safety validation, etc. is essential. Knowledge of SOTIF (ISO 21448), ASPICE (ISO 15504), Cybersecurity, and familiarity with different sensors technologies and applications of Sensor Fusion is meritorious.
You should be able to build good relationships with internal stakeholders as well as external suppliers. You need to have the capacity to drive several issues simultaneously and work in a structured way. This role requires you to have great communication skills and fluency in English.
