We currently have the following job opening;
System Engineer Upper Body
As a System Engineer within Upper Body you will be working on all aspects of vehicle structure development on our future vehicle program for the new car brand Lynk & Co.
We have an end-to-end approach, working within a cross functional team within R&D both in Sweden and China. You will Innovate, Conceptualize, Design, Engineer, Release, Develop and Launch Body Structure components and systems. Together we contribute to the whole vehicle specification targets and the overall business of the department and the company.
Responsibilities and tasks
- Drive design concepts for sub-systems together with design engineers.
• Create and develop Body-in-White component and system requirements and specifications.
• Create vehicle-aligned component and system targets for function, cost, weight and investment.
• Achieve NVH, safety and crash performance targets.
• Secure our deliveries in different project phases, such as NVH, crash performance, cost, weight, design.
• Interface with suppliers for manufacturing feasibility and validation activities.
• Cooperate with other functions such as Purchasing, Manufacturing Engineering, Design, Suppliers.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement and further development of core activities.
Profile and Background
• Master of Science in Engineering, or the equivalent experience.
• Proven leadership and project management skills.
• Experience from automotive industry and Body-in-White systems.
• Sound understanding of mechanical design fundamentals.
• Good understanding of design for manufacturing and design for assembly.
• Cross-cultural awareness, especially from Asian - European culture.
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English and Swedish.
Personal Attributes:
The ideal candidate is an individual with a strong passion for body design development in automotive who is willing to be challenged with the design of innovative automotive structural materials and concept designs. Ability to flexibly work in vague and constantly changing design direction and conditions.
Enjoys being a team player and can work closely with project and system managers as well as with suppliers
