As a System Engineer - Interior Surface Materials you are part of the Interior Trim team. You are working with the development of materials for the interior of the car, such as textiles, leathers and plastics. You will develop requirements, concepts and system solutions and you will drive the work towards suppliers in order to fulfill the technical requirements and the Design intent. The work involves contacts with several other engineering systems within Interior department, our team members in China, Geely Design and suppliers.
Responsibilities and tasks
• Develop surface materials for the car interior that meet requirements and Design intent.
• Support the defined release routines and release system plans.
• To convey Appearance and Design assessments of Surface materials during the development phase in co-operation with Geely Design.
• Evaluate and review supplier documentation such as materials- and test specifications, test plans and test reports.
• Write material specifications.
Requirements
• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in textile eng., mechanical eng. or materials eng.
• Relevant experience from development of components and systems within the automotive area.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes for materials such as textiles, leathers and plastics
• Ability to work independently
• Driven problem solver who takes initiatives and responds to changing priorities.
• Ability to work in cross functional teams
• Experience of project leading
• Ability to drive work towards suppliers
• Cultural awareness, especially Asian ? European culture
