The automotive industry is undergoing a rapid transformation with major technology shifts. Connectivity is one of those areas in which disruptive technologies are taking place. Therefore at Vehicle Connectivity, within Volvo Group Trucks Technology, we have exciting opportunities to shape the future by proving innovative solutions and products that generate added value to our customers. We are now seeking a System Architect, a driven facilitator who can bring together key stakeholders for defining our shared technical and architectural vision.
What you will do
The overall mission of the System Architect is to lead and set the architectural direction of our on-board solutions for connectivity and connected services.
Key responsibilities include leading the work needed for defining the system, subsystems and interfaces. Coordination of technical strategies and steering overall roadmap work will be important tasks. You will network and cooperate with persons across the organization as our connectivity and connected services architecture must fit into the complete on-board Electrical & Electronics architecture as well as have well-defined interfaces towards the off-board architecture. You will communicate our architectural vision and be ambassador of our technology area within Volvo.
In this position you will report to the Director of Systems, Function & Verification and you will also be part of its corresponding Management Team.

Who are you?

You have excellent communication skills and can naturally build relations and networks.
We expect that you have proven track record in systems engineering/architecture within the automotive industry, at least eight years. Experience in the areas of infotainment and telematics is considered as a great asset. Previous experience in embedded software development is also deemed as meriting. Demonstrated leadership of technical teams is essential for this role. You have good knowledge of agile software development methodologies, with ability to further develop yourself.
Applicants shall have a M.Sc. degree in Engineering or similar.
