At Volvo Cars, we have an Agile Organization where we develop our product features and functions continuously in Product Streams with a complete lifecycle responsibility. The three Product Streams within the unit Vehicle Software&Electronics are:
* In-Car Digital - Infotainment, Digital User Experience, Connectivity
* Base Software - Electrical and Electronics Systems
* Autonomous Drive - Active Safety and autonomous drive functions
System Analysis Engineer - Active Safety
Main Responsibilities of the Department
Active Safety is an area where Volvo, through continuous launching of new, innovative, and world first safety features, has positioned itself among the leaders of the automotive industry. Now the work continues to reach our ambitious vision that by 2020 no one should be killed or seriously injured in a new Volvo. Within the department, we develop systems such as Collision Avoidance, Autonomous Drive, Automatic Parking, Driver Support and Protective Safety.
We are responsible for analysis and verification of several different systems such as CADS (Collision Avoidance and Driver Support), parking maneuvering, parking cameras, automatic parking, BLIS (Blind Spot Information System) and SRS. All these involved systems will be part of the future self-driving cars together with many new systems. Our test methods today are both for bench, rigs, cars and CAE. Our daily work is performed in close collaboration with both our internal design departments and the Active Safety CAE group, electrical, interior/exterior, ergonomics as well as external suppliers.
We are now searching for a System Analysis Engineer who will be testing our AD/ADAS systems. You will be part of the project team, plan and lead the system verification as well as report to management. Different technical solutions are to be evaluated and development of new test methods are needed to secure that the vehicles meet our high safety standards. This is a cross functional role and you will have regular contact with engineers from technical areas and the product development departments. You will prepare and perform the system testing in bench, HIL, Boxcar and Vehicle. You will also participate in field expeditions where the sensors, systems and functions are tested in different environments.
Who are you?
You have a passion for technique, analysis, our products and customers and you have the ability to independently develop, plan, conduct and follow up work towards objectives. In daily work, you are structured and focus on methodologies as well as you have strong documentation and communication skills. You also need to feel comfortable networking with different people. We need you to also have strong analytical skills with a mathematic approach.
Requirements:
M.Sc or B.Sc in mathematics, mechatronics, electronics or physics
At Least 2-3 years of work experience
Fluent in English (written and spoken)
Driver license B
Experiences
Experience from Matlab and Simulink
Experience in using Vector products such as CANoe, CANalyzer and CANApe
Meritorious
Automotive development
Sensor or system development
Programming languages such as C++, .Net and Java

Location for this position is within Gothenburg, Sweden from where we expect you are able to work with adequate working permits. Working proficiency in the English language, speech and writing, is a requirement. Combined with the same skills in the Swedish language is considered a merit.
