To be able to meet the increasing demand of electricity in the future we at Uniper believe that it's necessary to invest in all fossil free alternatives. Nuclear Power is a cornerstone in the Swedish power system providing reliable and clean energy, including several grid stabilizing services.
Sydkraft Nuclear Power AB is now looking for a R&D and Strategic Technology Lead to join our Operations team. The main task of the team is to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all our nuclear assets. We have ownership in all Swedish nuclear power plants and we also have ownership and a strong commitment in the Swedish program for nuclear waste and spent nuclear fuel. R&D is natural part of our work both to improve and develop our current assets and also to explore future nuclear technologies, like SMRs, and future nuclear applications.
As our R&D and Strategic Technology Lead you will have a key role in our R&D and Strategic Technology work. We participate in several national and international R&D projects in co-operation with industry, academy and institutes in many different fields of interest for our business.
What you will be working with
• Develop SNP R&D strategy aligned with SNP long term strategy. This includes R&D that supports operation of current assets in a safe, efficient and profitable way but also new technologies that can be of interest for SNP.
• Responsible for SNP R&D portfolio.
• Propose and lead new R&D activities that supports the R&D strategy.
• Represent SNP in relevant R&D networks, nationally and internationally.
• Develop, propose and participate in SNP work related to critical technologies including related competencies. This is done in close cooperation with SNP Nuclear Asset Strategy function.
• Participate in activities, nationally and internationally, related to strategic technologies and related competencies. This can encompass supply chain issues related to obsolete technology and related technology shift, R&D activities etc.

Uniper is part of Sweden's critical infrastructure and our operations are covered by, among other things, rules related to protective security, export control and nuclear non-proliferation.
We will therefore carry out security clearance of all positions and complement with register control for security classified positions, according to the Protection Security Act.

Who we are seeking
You have a Master of Science within a relevant area relating to nuclear technology and many years of experience from working in the energy business. The role is set in an international environment and as a result you need to be fluent in written and spoken Swedish and English. You have advanced communication and presentation skills and are able to communicate and present material in a clear and structured way. As a person you have a high level of integrity, reliability and personal drive as well as a high level of commercial awareness. You are able to see the big picture and strive towards finding a pragmatic approach. You have a strong analytical mindset and willingness to drive performance and change. We also see that you value and promote cooperation and are a strong team player.
