hela Sverige The global supplier quality function at HVDC is expanding and in need of Supplier Quality Inspectors. Having a robust and reliable supply chain allows HVDC to contribute to the green transition by uninterruptedly producing power links interconnecting countries, allowing renewable energy to flow across continents. As a Supplier Quality Inspector, you will be an important contributor to this by making sure our suppliers deliver the needed products with the required high quality.
In the role as Supplier Quality Inspector, you will perform inspections either on-site at supplier, or remote depending on type of inspection. You will participate in suppliers' quality control activities, making sure they are conducted properly and that Hitachi Energy's requirements are met. While performing inspections, you will also be an ambassador for Hitachi Energy, supporting the supplier and their staff to understand the product requirements and why they are important. Thereby allowing the supplier to focus on the right improvements and make it easier for them to reach out in case of doubt.
The role is newly established, so you get to be part in the exciting task of shaping how to plan and execute inspections. The global supplier quality team which you will be part of is however existing, and you will have experienced colleagues around the globe to provide you with strong support whenever needed.
Your responsibilities
Together with Supplier Quality Engineers and Category Managers, plan supplier inspections according to product and supplier criticality, performance and commodity strategy
Together with Supplier Quality Engineers and Engineering representatives, define the inspection points based on criticality, and support in establishing effective inspection procedure (i.e. checklist) with clear acceptance criteria
Continuous dialogue with supplier to align on inspection timing and activities execution
Execute inspection plan by travelling to supplier or perform remote inspection
Be the voice of Hitachi Energy at the supplier to help them understand the requirements and why they are important
Prepare inspection report and share it to internal stakeholders, indicating the inspection findings and the agreed action plan for the findings. Drive resolution in coordination with the project team
Analyze periodically inspection outcome to identify potential gaps in supplier processes
Support Supplier Quality Engineers in defining performance improvement plans based on inspection outcome
Review the supplier non-conformities raised on inspected products (escaping defects) to measure the effectiveness of the inspection process and when required to propose process improvement
Your background
Technical education (high school or above)
5+ years of experience from quality control activities
Strong competence in reading and understanding specifications, drawings and standards (IEC, etc)
Good knowledge or experience in special manufacturing processes such as welding, galvanizing, painting, soldering (IPC610 certification is a plus) etc.
Experience with various inspection methods and tools, including non-destructive examination (NDE)
Previous experience from roles with supplier or customer interaction (can be internal)
Solid written and verbal communication skills
Strong skills in English
