Volvo Construction Equipment, Global Supplier Development is searching for a Supplier Development Engineer to commodity Powertrain.

As Supplier Development Engineer you are a key person in the evaluation, selection of new Volvo qualified suppliers, new business award process and improvement programs for supplier performance. You are responsible to optimize the quality and deliveries of parts within your sub-commodities in new product development projects, existing production and aftermarket.

This job includes to a very high content external and internal communication in a global commercial environment, negotiation and communication is one of your key skills.

In order to effectively negotiate, manage, inspire and create positive win-win business relations an extensive experience and knowledge in manufacturing processes related to Powertrain commodity is needed in this position.

Responsibilities
Active stakeholder in the supplier strategy & business award decisions
Lead APQP & PPAP activities
Present supplier quality performance and requirements
Represent the team in various forums, workshops and product development projects
Lead supplier evaluations, audits and lean manufacturing programs
Continuous contribute to develop, update SDE tools, systems and processes
Follow up and report on SD projects
Improve supplier Quality, Delivery and Capacity performance
Find cost saving possibilities in manufacturing process or design
Drive and follow up our suppliers work to solve quality problems
Active member of the commodity team and provide input and activities in line with development and implementation of the commodity strategy
Work in accordance with the Volvo CE processes and other Volvo Values

Competence requirements:
University degree in Production, Quality or Engineering (or equivalent)
Work experience: 7+ years
Extensive experience and direct knowledge in manufacturing process within Powertrain area
Excellent English is a must
Understanding of drawings, technical and test specifications
Proficient with automotive part quality assurance tools, PPAP and APQP
Practical knowledge in lean manufacturing & change management
Strong drive for results and willingness to take own initiatives, lead and influence others
Good presenter, business minded with leader and negotiation skills
Coaching/Training experience beneficial
Proven ability to work effectively in matrix, multinational and multicultural environment
Ambition, business minded with a drive for development
Proficient with MS software and SAP/similar ERP-experience or quick learner
Must be open to travel when needed
