hela Sverige As a SD engineer within our Purchasing organisation in Europe, you will be responsible for the quality of all parts supplied to all Volvo CE European productions sites by our external suppliers.
You will in close cross functional teamwork with all Purchasing, Product Development and Manufacturing, work with problem solving methodology like six sigma or similar to improve and secure the quality level of existing products where our suppliers have difficulties to meet set specification and targets.
The Supplier development team in Europe consists of 45 SD engineers of which 27 are located at our Swedish sites and 18 at our Central Europe sites. We are now looking for potential candidates to reinforce our team.
Core responsibilities:
• Initiate/steer supplier quality improvements with assigned suppliers
• Apply problem solving methodology in cross functional teams with other departments and suppliers to assure disturbance free manufacturing
• Apply the Volvo CE quality assurance process to secure the quality level supplied by our suppliers in running production
• Continuously contribute in cross functional teams to improve QDC
Required competencies:
• Experience of root cause analyses and problem solving methodology like six sigma or similar
• Experience of quality assurance preferably with suppliers
• Experience of several different manufacturing processes and at least experience of casting and/or sheet metal manufacturing processes
• Experience of quality assurance and/or manufacturing/process engineering in a manufacturing company for several years
• University degree within relevant technical area or equivalent experience within quality assurance and problem solving
Flexible location at one of Volvo CE:s Swedish sites in Arvika, Braås, Eskilstuna or Hallsberg.
