POSITION SUMMARY:
The ideal candidate would have a blend of experience working in both advertising and post production realms. We need someone to strike the right balance between doing the work and leading the work. The motion designer we’re looking is comfortable developing motion pieces for web or broadcast, with a clear understanding of the technical constraints, planning considerations, and trade-offs in design choices.
They feel ready and able to try quick motion tests themselves to share back with a team. They can interpret the ideas of others, even visually express them, and then slice it all together like a ninja. (We want to lean on your motion skills.)
Key Activities:
1. Visual design abilities
We really expect our motion graphics designer to know the difference between good and great. But knowing isn’t enough. We’re looking for someone to conceptualize it, design it, and make it move. If your roots are in graphic design, we want to talk to you! If you were ever in a band or played an instrument growing up, even better! (Translation: you get time, rhythm and pacing!) But at the end of the day, we need you for your ability to imagine, create, and produce time-based visuals and narratives.
2. Prototyping skills
Successful applicants for this position understand that you succeed sooner by trial and experiments. Understanding of prototyping methods at different levels of fidelity (think Macgyver), with experience doing and initiating such work, is key. Applicants should feel comfortable throughout all phases of a project, from translating verbal ideas into visual concepts through design development & refinement to finished high-fidelity pieces.
3. Team skills
Successful candidates must believe that better work is accomplished through collaboration and be able to effectively share their point of view and expertise. They should be highly organized with an ability to multi-task and manage multiple deadlines.
4. Communication skills
Candidates must have strong presentation skills. They are eager to apply their knowledge of design and brand to the business environment in order to provide clients with actionable solutions.
6+ years of work experience
Bachelors Degree in Graphic Design, Media Design, or equivalent.
Additional Skills Required:
Skills: Working knowledge of the Final Cut Studio workflow. After Effects is a must, as are strong 3D skills, ex
