Technology Excellence Center Fiber materials is a newly formed R&D department at Gruvön Mill in Grums, Sweden. The new center will be working with early development of cellulose fiber materials and manufacturing processes to aid BillerudKorsnäs in our vision to challenge conventional packaging. Development is carried out in collaboration with other departments, suppliers as well as with institutes and universities world wide to gather and make use of the latest research in the area of fiber materials.
We are now looking for a Specialist/Project manager within Paper chemistry/Fiber materials. With your experience in product development and your inherent will to improve things you will become an key person in the forming of the new team.
Job description
As a specialist/project manager in paper chemistry/fiber technology you will be initializing and developing research projects in your area. You will be performing investigations with focus on paper chemistry to improve paper/board properties, stock preparation or chemicals for embedded functionality. You will be responsible for scouting your specialist area for new technology and when suitable, form development projects with external partners. This will require the ability to form good relationships and collaborations in an international arena, thus travelling will be a required part of the job as well as good interpersonal skills.
Together with the rest of the team you will be involved in all aspects of product development including material development and scaling up of technologies. You also will be working as specialist in product development projects driven by other departments where you will be able to take lead of work tasks and act as an expert in your field of knowledge.
Qualifications
Most importantly we are looking for a person with very good knowledge in paper chemistry and cellulose fiber materials and who has worked professionally with material and process development.
You have:
Expert knowledge in the area of paper chemistry, Good knowledge in the area of paper making or in adjacent areas such as pulping and converting. You most likely have a MSc in Chemistry, Chemistry technology or Material technology or equal education or experience.
As a senior specialist you have experience of research and a PhD or a Licentiate of Technology in one of the following areas is merit; Paper Chemistry, Nano cellulose, Moldable pulp, Formable paper, Fiber Modification or Fiber material Technology. As a senior project manager you have documented knowledge in project management as well as high technical know-how within in one of the above mentioned areas.
You are fluent in English, both written and spoken.
You have 5-10 years of work experience as a specialist or project manager in research or product development projects.
You are:
An analytical person with talent for structural thinking and good problem solving skills. You always take responsibility for your assignments and you are a considerate colleague that cares for the progress of the whole team. A key character will be a curious mind with a genuine interest for technology and research and development.
