Axis is looking for the right person to fill a temporary position (14 month with start 1-june) as Commodity responsible for mechanic suppliers in our Sourcing team within our Operations organization.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
In this role you will have the overall sourcing responsibility for mechanics components used in Axis’s products. Working in this position will give you a great opportunity to make a difference to our business. You will hold a key position within our Operations department in making sure that we procure material at the right price and you will also pay an important role in assisting our engineers in their development work.
You will:
Continuously decrease purchase prices and improve other purchasing terms and conditions on mechanic components by conducting fact based negotiations with suppliers Be involved early in product development in order to influence component choices as well as taking care of commercial discussions during development phase. Be responsible for developing suppliers performance in order to support Axis vision Keep track of market trends within mechanic industry and act to minimize supply disturbances Keep track of raw material cost level changes in order to support negotiation strategy within the category Continuously develop and execute the commodity strategy for the mechanics supplier base in cooperation with the different stakeholders.
The position includes approximately 20 days of travelling per year.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We believe that you are a well-structured and result oriented person. Teamwork is crucial for Axis – therefore it is important that you have an open attitude in interaction with colleagues and external stakeholders. You enjoy collaboration and like to share knowledge and information with your coworkers.
You have:
University or similar post-secondary education within Supply Chain Management, Business or Engineering At least 4 years of experience from international purchasing/sourcing of which at least 2 years with strategic responsibilities Knowledge of mechanic industry and its cost drivers Proven negotiation skills Experience from different business cultures Knowledge of Category Management Excellent skills in English, both orally and in writing
It is considered an extra plus if you also have:
A well-established contact network with mechanic suppliers especially within die-casting (aluminum or zinc). Experience from working in ERP systems
