Assignment description:
So, a really warm welcome to one of the world's oldest start-ups and the Residential Robotic team! Here at Robotics, you really will be a part of changing the game for turf care. Your contribution will be pivotal in ensuring our robotic mowers meet the high-quality standards that our customers have come to expect. Your testing and verification efforts will significantly improve user experience, enhance product safety, and shape the future of residential lawn care. So, how can we make sure that the Automower doesn't get stuck in narrow passages or a small corridor and can't get out of there? That the customer can navigate the mower back to charging with the app, or that the mower always finds its way back to the charging station? The testing is up to you! You will work closely with the development team, to highlight areas of improvement. You design and execute detailed test plans, to ensure our robotic mowers perform as intended. Regression testing, acceptance testing, and continuous verification of bug fixes - to find deviations against requirements and document unwanted mower behavior in the form of bugs or stories. That will be a big part of your working days as a System Tester here at Robotics. You will also do WIFI-tests, Radar-testing, and GPS tests, for our newest family members (for example, NERA) that comes with Husqvarna's satellite navigation system, which enables the robotic mowers to work within virtual boundaries. Did we mention that it can be voice-activated? It even predicts the weather conditions to pick the perfect mowing time.
Outdoor Testing:
A significant portion of testing will be conducted outdoors, testing robotic mowers in real-world environments. Candidates should be comfortable working in various weather conditions.
International Travel:
The role requires travel to test sites outside Sweden for periods of up to two weeks, so candidates should be open to frequent travel.
Tasks:
As a Manual tester your tasks will be mainly:
Test Execution: Perform manual testing on robotic lawnmowers, focusing on software components. Testing can be done indoors, but the majority will be conducted outdoors.
Report and Analyze:
Provide regular reports on test progress, results, and identified issues.
Offer detailed analysis and make recommendations for improvements to both the product and testing processes.
Required skills:
Technical Testing Skills:
Strong understanding of the Software Development Cycle.
Proficient in various testing techniques, such as black-box testing, white-box testing, regression testing, etc.
Experience with test management tools (e.g., JIRA)
Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills:
Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand complex systems and identify key areas for testing.
Excellent problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues found during testing and ensure proper resolutions.
Attention to Detail:
Keen eye for identifying small inconsistencies or bugs in software behavior and understanding how they may impact the overall system.
Communication & Teamwork:
Strong communication skills to report on testing progress, explain test results, and recommend improvements to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Proven ability to work well in team environments, coordinating with cross-functional teams.
Time Management:
Ability to manage time efficiently, ensuring that testing activities are completed on time without compromising quality.
Optional or Desirable Skills:
Certification:
Holding certifications like ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board) is a plus, demonstrating a strong foundation in testing methodologies and principles.
Testing Techniques:
In-depth understanding of advanced testing techniques and best practices.
Experience with Test Tools:
Experience using test tools and software testing frameworks to streamline the testing process.
