What 's in it for you
The Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence Center of Excellence is responsible for setting up and driving the integration of Volvo Cars' overall machine learning strategy. The department also handle competence growth and collaborations within the field of machine learning. Our team is cross-functional, consisting of Data Engineers, Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers developing product applications and services with direct or indirect connection to our cars.
We are now looking for an experienced Software Engineer to complement our team with software development and design knowledge, to improve and deploy our machine learning applications. You will use your technical skills to tackle break-through machine learning and artificial intelligence problems at one of the world's most tech-intensive car manufacturers.
What you'll will do
As a Software Engineer you will work with Software Development in machine learning solutions and packaging of machine learning pipelines according to deployment requirements. You will pro-actively drive and enhancing the group's core infrastructure (e.g. build systems, automated code-quality assessment) and apply machine learning. You will work with low-level optimization and parallelization, cloud-based workflow development and deployment and developing companywide reusable software components.
You and your skills
* BSc/MSc or further training in Software Engineering, Computer Science or Computer/Electrical Engineering
* 3-5 years' experience
* Excellent implementation skills (high-level and low-level languages) a must
* Experience with all or most of the following: Python, R, C, C++, Scala, Java, and with version control systems (preferred Git)
* Knowledge of UNIX/Linux environments
Meritorious
* Systems software
* Algorithm design and analysis
* Performance optimization
* Build Systems (e.g. Maven, Webpack)
* Continuous integration (e.g. Travis, Jenkins)
* Configuration management (e.g. Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
* Containerized solutions (e.g. Docker)
* Scheduling systems (e.g. SGE)
* Cloud services (e.g. Azure, Amazon Web Services)
* Distributed programming (e.g. Hadoop, Spark, MPI)
* Prior experience with machine learning applications
* Scientific computing and numerical methods
