Your role
As a team member in one of our teams, you will be working with new system design on different levels of aircraft simulation. Beyond that, you will work with supporting current systems that are already in operation. There will be a lot of problem solving, learning and investigating together to reach the goal to make the Gripen system efficient and successful. You and your teammates will share the success and together feel proud of what you have accomplished. As all of the Gripen software is tested in simulators before it continues to the actual aircraft, this means that you will over time acquire significant knowledge about the Gripen aircraft and its systems, even though the pool of knowledge never will stop feeding your curiosity.
Your profile
We work in a Unix/Linux based development environment and use C, C++, Qt, Python, Bash, Git, Google test and CMake. Naturally, there is a big advantage that you have knowledge of these or other script languages and tools. However, if you do not know for example Qt, that is not a problem.
Your personal characteristics and drive are very important to us and may outweigh pre-existing knowledge and experience. We will help you learn what you need to know if you are willing and able!
As both the simulators and the systems they support are continuously under development, you will need to be able to adapt to new ideas and solutions, and be a part of creating them.
What you will be a part of
The department Simulators, Training and Support Systems develops simulators, rigs, and support systems for all product phases (concept, marketing, development, validation and training). Within the department, we have all the engineering knowledge required to design, develop, produce and deliver products, and to provide training for these products and systems.
The area Development Simulators consists of 4 sections currently employing 73 people. Together the sections are responsible for providing simulators and rigs for the development and support of Gripen E/F and Gripen C/D, operation of these development simulators and providing the Aircraft Simulation used both in development and training simulators. We need to expand several of these sections and will find a fitting place in one of them for you depending on your knowledge and interests.
As this position includes work with classified defence information, it is required that you will be approved in a security screening in accordance with the Swedish Protective Security Act.
