We are now growing our System Research team with a Signal Processing Specialist.

You will work with focus on sensor functionality development and integration into our machine software. The sensing and monitoring functions within Additive are rapidly evolving and the industry is constantly pushing for more machine surveillance and in-situ process monitoring. In our machines, there is a huge potential in utilizing signals emitted when the electron beam hits the metal. Smart signal processing can turn the sensor data (x-ray, NIR-cameras, spectrometers etc.) into valuable machine and melt process feedback.
We are looking for a person with a unique interest of exploring the unknown and passionate to develop sensing technology in our EBM machines. You will participate in keeping our technological roadmap attractive by understanding future customer needs. You will have a central role in how sensing technologies are developing and are merging into our products. The position will include occasional travelling a few times a year to partners around the world.
Main responsibilities:
• Specialist role; signal processing for in-situ sensor functionality integration
• Sensor data acquisition, analytics, and algorithm programming to feedback EBM process parameters
• Control/Analytics hardware architecture work
• Integrate new functions and modules in prototypes. Embedded programming
• Management of research projects related to in-situ sensor technology together with internal (other departments) or external partners (i.e. GE Global Research or Oak Ridge National Laboratory)
• Take a leading role to actively work with and maintain the In-Situ measurement roadmap
• Involve and communicate with Product Portfolio Management and Product Development to continuously prioritize sensor functionality work
• Work with Software Department to develop and maintain interfaces to machine
• Requirement definitions of In-Situ functions and modules
• Testing and code reviews
• Documentation
• Participate in continuous improvement of work processes within the System Research group
• Comply with project plans and industry standards

Profile
• At least five years of experience in relevant industry or academia
• Master's degree in Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Engineering
• Good knowledge in algorithms and sensor utilization
• Programming experience, preferable embedded programming, is a prerequisite
• Innovative, quality conscious and business-oriented person
• You are a collaborative person, since you will be working together in a team with sensor/electronics specialists and software programmers
• Fluent English, verbal and written
