The Västerås unit has close to 160 employees and is responsible for marketing, sales, engineering, development, delivery and commissioning of our network management solutions.
Tasks
ABB Enterprise Software in Västerås is a center of excellence for Network Manager SCADA software development within ABB worldwide and our skilled testing team assesses all risks related to product quality. We are currently undergoing a business development phase and are now looking for a Senior Tester to help test the product. In this role, you will quickly become an expert in the product and work closely with developers to write and execute effective test scenarios early in the release. In detail, the work will include estimating time required to test new functionality, writing and executing test cases as well as documenting defects found during testing. Other tasks will involve providing traceability between test cases and requirements as well as evaluating defect escapes and providing corrective actions to improve testing. Most of the work will be executed together with our development team in Västerås, but you will also work closely with our development departments in Poland and in the USA. In liaising with them you will provide feedback during design reviews on usability, testability and potential defects. You will report daily progress to the test leader and contribute to quality metrics as needed. You have minimum a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Science or other relevant areas combined with a several years? experience from testing software products. In addition to this, you have knowledge of testing concepts and how to apply them, including positive, negative and boundary testing. Moreover, you have previously worked with performance testing for SCADA/EMS products and test automation and are familiar with Waterfall and Agile testing methodologies and exploratory testing strategies. Experience of power systems as well as domain knowledge of utility, power generation and distribution software, such as SCADA/EMS or DMS systems, are positive. Your background has made you an expert in tools like TFS as well as in operating systems and scripting languages such as Linux and Windows.
