Your tasks will involve overseeing or performing strategic sourcing work in a strategic manner, aiming to reduce costs. This includes developing and implementing strategies specific to the assigned area, as well as driving activities related to purchasing within the specific category. You are also responsible for establishing processes to manage relationships with suppliers and setting goals and programs for continuous improvement.
You will facilitate contract discussions and organize plans for incorporating suppliers in collaboration with internal stakeholders and keep a close eye on market changes that can affect the availability or cost of materials and services. In this position you will work alongside internal clients to recognize sourcing requirements, create profiles for buyers or markets, analyze emerging trends in the marketplace, and establish agreed-upon service standards.
At a higher level, individuals may be responsible for leading transformation initiatives through activities such as digitalization and sustainability.
The typical duties involve:
• Overseeing significant projects or complete processes independently, with minimal supervision from a manager.
• Providing guidance, evaluating, and assigning tasks to professionals at lower levels.
• Handling challenging and intricate problems on a regular basis.
Requirements
• Specialized knowledge and expertise in the area of purchasing, which you have acquired through a combination of education and work experience.
• A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience or more.
