We are currently looking for a senior specialist in industrial Internet-of-Things for critical applications in industry and society.
Digitalization will be central in forming future operations in industry as well as in our cities. Successful digitalization of critical applications requires secure and reliable connections and
services spanning from things to cloud. Moreover, integration of data from previously compartmentalized systems creates opportunities for new services and new business. An example could be the integration of traditional automation data with consumer service demand patterns to optimize a process. Thus operational technology, found in traditional automation systems, and enterprise IT-Systems are converging.
When software-based services in a data center provide critical parts of an automation system new requirements of the IT-architecture emerge, both locally and in the cloud.
RISE SICS Västerås is a research institute aiming at strengthening the innovation system in the Mälardalen region by offering applied research to both private and public organisations. Our research projects often involve a team of researchers and focus on delivering tangible results that create immediate and long-term value, based on the latest research results. We are constantly growing and are looking for researchers that find a challenge in working in close collaboration with industry.

We are now looking for excellent people to strengthen our team in the area of software and systems architecture applied to internet-of-things for critical applications in industry and society.
As a researcher, you will be part of our team and work in existing projects as well as contribute to new ideas and new projects.

* skilled in documenting and presenting their work, i.e. describing the problem, solution and approach in English in an understandable manner

* comfortable with a research oriented way of working
To be part of our team, we believe you have:
* extensive experience and skills in industrial software systems
* extensive experience and skills in industrial cloud services and cloud infrastructure
* demonstrated experience in running industrial research projects
* demonstrated experience from publicly funded research projects
* have a higher academic degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field.
