The European Fast Trak team located at GE's Life Science site in Uppsala is looking for a Downstream Senior Scientist as the latest addition to the team.
Essential Responsibilities:
Fast Trak is a global group within GE Healthcare that supports customers from the biopharma industry and/or academia with process development services for various biomolecules as well as with consulting and training courses. Given its diverse functions, Fast Trak nurtures a highly collaborative and exciting environment and provides many opportunities for individual career development.
As a Senior Scientist you will:
Work directly with customers in a strong collabortive environment.
Developing downstream processes for various biomolecules
Scale-up of downstream processes and operation of large scale bioprocess equipment
Identify improvement opportunities in GE customer's bio-manufacturing processes
Act as project leader of process development projects
Conduct independent scientific application work on key projects (Monoclonal Antibodies (MAb's), vaccines, recombinant proteins, plasma fractionation)
Designing, developing and delivering training courses for customers, theoretical as well as practical, in the field of biomanufacturing
Occasional international travel may occur
Qualifications/Requirements:
PhD or Masters degree in Chemistry, Physics, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical engineering or related Life Sciences field
Significant years of industrial experience in downstream process development, scale-up, tech transfer or manufacturing.
To be successful in this role, you enjoy working in a high pace environment with frequent changes.
You have strong presentation skills and rely on your outstanding communication skills to establish a network inside and outside of GE. Advanced English skills are a must to be successful in the global business environment we operate in.
Desired Characteristics:
Working knowledge of FDA/EMEA regulations for biologics (Phase I-III and manufacturing)
Column Packing Experience
HTPD experience
Prior teaching and/or presenting scientific material experience would be highly desirable
