hela Sverige The Department of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics (MEB) is among the largest departments of epidemiology in Europe with special focus on increasing our knowledge of the aetiology of different diseases. Our department consists of researchers, doctoral students, biostatisticians, data collectors and database administrators as well as administrative personnel, in total some 250 staff. The department is situated at campus Solna. Further information can be found at ki.se/meb
Work duties
The researcher will mainly be employed to carry out his/her own research.
In addition, the researcher should assist with statistical expertise in applied projects at the department. It is also required that the researcher contributes to the course curriculum at the department by, for instance, organizing doctoral level courses and giving lectures.
Entry requirements
A person is eligible to be appointed Senior Researcher if he or she has been awarded a Degree of Doctor or has achieved the corresponding scientific competence, as well as documented research after publicly defending his or her doctoral thesis corresponding to qualification as Assistant professor.
Many of the studies at the department aim to answer causal research questions, often by means of family (e.g. sibling or twin) data. Thus, applicant must be excellent in causal inference methods and methods for family designs. Applicants also must have grant(s) from external funding body, significant teaching experience and documented pedagogical skills.

We stress research as well as teaching expertise when assessing applicants.
