Some words about your new team
At Rock Tools, part of the Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions business area, our Top Hammer (TH) R&D unit enhances the business by providing product development, research and technical support. As the demands on our products become more and more challenging, we play an important role in ensuring increased performance and a market-leading position.
Your mission
In this position, you engage in development projects in close collaboration with stakeholders at our product units to find solutions that fulfill our customers' needs. You're responsible for developing and creating new products, and for maintenance of existing products within the Top Hammer product line - and you bring your valuable knowledge and expertise into our different projects and activities.
Another part of your assignment is initiating and following method development projects with laboratory tests and simulations. By getting to know our customers and scanning the market, you follow trends and development in this field. You support and collaborate closely with production in technical matters to make sure our products stay market leading, as well as supporting marketing departments, subsidiary and sales companies.
You're based at our site in Sandviken, Sweden.
Your profile
We're looking for an engineer with a background in product development, who's been working with CAD, PDM and FEM on a daily basis. Preferably, you have a master's degree in mechanical engineering and an interest in areas such as tribology, materials and manufacturing. As we're a global business, you need excellent skills in English. Swedish language skills are a plus.
Your personality really matters to us and a key in this position is your technical interest and your appetite for development. You're a true driving force in making things happen and you're skilled at prioritizing your tasks to achieve results. You collaborate with many different people in our organization, and this calls for great communication skills, excellent teamwork and the will to share knowledge.
Our culture
Our role is clear - through every action, every day, we make the shift and advance the world through engineering. We believe in an inclusive, equal and open-minded culture, and we nurture our diversities to form a solid foundation for achieving great results.
