What we offer
Our "Vision 2020" is about reducing the number of people that die or are seriously injured in road traffic accidents to zero, and we believe that our first unsupervised autonomous vehicles will be in the market by 2021. As a result, we have a newly created position as a Senior Purchasing Manager for Autonomous Drive & Active Safety. You will work within one the key strategic areas within Volvo Car to help us build the future of the car industry.
What you will do
You will lead our newly created Autonomous Drive & Active Safety team that consists of five experienced buyers. The responsibilities of each team member covers strategic work, sourcing as well as running tasks to secure day to day operations within the technical areas of Autonomous Drive & Active Safety.
* Develop, support and coach the team in the daily work.
* Human Resource responsibility for the group such as recruitment, new employee introduction, competence development and salary setting.
* Responsible for the commercial result of the team and that targets are met and results delivered in time.
* Overall responsibility for supplier base and strategy development.
* Cooperation with internal as well as external contacts.
Do you fit the profile
Ideally you have previous leadership experience of building up a newly created team, as well as related experience within the Autonomous Drive and/or Active Safety area. We are also open for people with diverse industry experiences outside of automotive.
* Commercial or technical university degree or equivalent.
* Strong business and commercial acumen.
* Experience from leading, coaching, and motivating people.
* Preferably experience within the Autonomous Drive and/or Active Safety area.
* Preferably experience from a strategic buyer role or a managerial position within purchasing or R&D.
