We have bases in Västerås, Jönköping and the Gothenburg area in Sweden. Over 90% of our production goes to export and our customers include all major auto manufacturers. The auto industry and its sub suppliers and to an increasing extent general industry, such as the food industry, are automating their production with robots. Welding, machine tending, materials management, grinding, packaging and assembly are the most common applications. Our robots and robotics are sold via local ABB companies and via independent systems integrators and OEM companies - companies we call our Partners.
Tasks
Are you interested in developing and designing advanced industrial robots, together with skilled project groups? At our ABB Robotics development unit in Västerås, we operate in a highly creative working environment. As our new colleague, you will be involved in complex robot design. Given your solid knowledge in Design for Automatic Assembly, you will be a key person within this area and play a vital part in current projects, concept generation, prototype development and productification. As with all our team members, you will be required to constantly focus on making our solutions quality assured and cost-efficient. As Mechanical Engineer, you will use the SolidWorks CAD system, document your work in our PLM system and work closely with analysis engineers, production engineers, our test unit, as well as the aftermarket at ABB Robotics.
Requirements
You have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. In your current position, you are already working with mechanical design, focusing on Design for Automatic Assembly - an area of which you have extensive experience in. Fluency in English is a requirement, written and spoken alike. Naturally, you are skilled at using the SolidWorks CAD system or similar. As an individual, you are creative and driven, and you have a genuine interest in technology. This position also requires an instinctive willingness and ability to co-operate with others to achieve common goals.
