You will be shaping SimBin?s ideas from first concept to development-ready design, doing everything in your power to make them come alive in-game.
Working closely with our Creative Director your role will be to understand and accurately depict the vision for our future games.
For this you have the skills to present your designs in whatever way makes them easy for the development team to implement, including being a super writer with great schematics skills, being able to understand programmers and artists alike, getting hands dirty in game to ensure they are implemented correctly and staying on schedule. On a personal level, you are very communicative, direct and concise, and above all very patient!
You will be working with us here in Lidköping, Sweden on the shores of Lake Vänern in a newly built and ultra-modern office. The official language here is English and we are a very social multinational bunch ? so be ready! We are using a personalized SCRUM methodology to make things happen and keep everyone on the same page. If you decide to join us we will help you move here and host you in the company apartment while you can settle in.
Responsibilities
• Oversee the creation of innovative game systems
• Supervise the implementation and maintenance of detailed game system documentation
• Estimate, write and update the game design wiki based on feedback from management and the team.
• Think forward and anticipate what problems a design change might create during production.
• Assist in creating new game pitches and present them as required
• Collaborate with the Creative Director to develop and enhance gameplay
• Arrange and facilitate appropriate design meetings and contribute considered comments and thoughts to the concepts being discussed.

• Great team player with a passion for getting things done
• Flexible, resourceful and self-learner
• Creatively organized, with a deep understanding of how a development team interacts
• Detail oriented, with a knack for problem solving
• Curious and willing to understand anything and everything related to game development ? so you can lend a creative hand when an artist or a coder is stuck
Skills and experience
• Proven design experience in the video game industry (at least one year as a game designer, with a strong preference for those who can demonstrate Lead Design experience)
• Intimate knowledge of the tools of the trade, from the classic Excel to Visio,
• PowerPoint and a wiki system
• Deep interest and knowledge on video games culture and industry
• Great English (make us perceive you as an Englishman even if you are not one ?)
• Experience in presenting High Concepts

• Do well with pseudo code and some scripting
• Share our passion for racing simulators and racing in general
