The department of Active Safety has been a rapidly growing part of Volvo Car Group over the last decade. Through continuous launching innovative and world first safety features, Volvo Cars has positioned itself among the leaders of the automotive industry. Now the work continues to reach our ambitious vision that by 2020 no one should be killed or seriously injured in a new Volvo.
At Proactive Safety we provide the occupants in the car protection in a crash situation. Electronic sensors and ECU's detects, determines and activates different devices i.e. bags and belts in case of an accident. We develop and maintain the electronic sensor and control system for today and tomorrow. We are now looking for 2 Senior Engineers who will become part of Protective Safety, a group within Safety Electronics section. As Senior Engineer you will plan and manage the given assignment through a cross functional team with many international contacts.
Main responsibilities
• Plan and manage the given assignment through a cross functional team with many international contacts
• Encourage and lead the System/Component Development and Verification teams to meet time plans and results with high quality
• Be responsible for all parts of the project such as requests for quotation for new components to plan and ensure time, technology and costs
• Make decisions and lead the project forward
Required qualifications
• Sc. in Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics or similar
• Experience in project management
• Experience within electronics engineering, preferably from the automotive industry
• Experience from software or hardware development in complex systems with analytical capability
• A personal interest in working with automotive safety and advanced electronic protective systems
• Driver's license valid in Sweden
• Fluent in English, written and spoken
