Indirect Purchasing (IDP) is a global organisation with highly skilled and motivated employees located in Sweden, Belgium, China, Malaysia and India. We have the responsibility for purchasing of Non-Production Material, Services and IT within Volvo Car Group. Our task is also to provide ongoing support for related projects and vehicle programs. We are responsible for development of supplier collaboration together with internal stakeholders in order to reach Volvo Cars' cost, quality and environmental requirements. Currently we are approximately 80 employees, organized in four sections.
We are now looking to add a Senior Buyer to join the group Professional Services. This group is responsible for services towards R&D, HR, Finance & Legal. Responsibilities includes consultants on-site and Service package with identified deliverables as well as executing operational purchasing activities of IDP to support stakeholders within defined commodities. Today the group consists of 6 persons that support the organisation in the implementation of strategic sourcing results and promotes operational efficiency. As Senior Buyer you will continuously lead sourcing activities and find business opportunities in collaboration with Purchasing managers, senior buyers and stakeholders. It is your mission to ensure acceptance and implementation of the sourcing strategy and you will actively participate in the validation of such approach.
Main responsibilities
• Perform procurement according to defined strategies and frameworks
• Negotiate and sign agreements
• Review purchase requisitions, identify and select contract/suppliers in accordance with defined strategies and agreement
• Advise stakeholders on procurement issues, providing support and guidance at all stages of the procurement cycle as well as on modifications in requests
• Participate as required in global and regional strategic sourcing projects
• Provide market data and information to strategic sourcing teams
• Actively participate in the implementation of new contract
• Track key performance indicators on supplier and stakeholder contract compliance; define and take corrective actions to improve contracts compliance and continuously track supplier performance on quality and cost
• Perform necessary market analysis to support the sourcing activity
• Initiate and conduct supplier evaluations and supplier audits
• Take an active role in develop and support efficient standardised req-to-pay processes.
Required qualifications
• At least a B.Sc in Engineering or Economics, or relevant work experience
• 5-10' years experience from purchasing, preferably in the automotive industry or within Engineering Services
• Fluent in English, written and spoken
• Driver's license
