hela Sverige Our Naval Architecture department needs to be reinforced in order to meet future challenges and we are exctited about expanding our team with both senior and junior Naval Architects. This is a job for you who are interested in developing new surface ships!
Your role
This is the dream job for you who have a genuine interest in ships! Your workingdays will be varied and follow the growth of our business. The role comprises work with new development project as well as modification projects of surface ships within the Naval Architecture area.
The main tasks are:
* Development of General Arrangement
* Analyses within the hydrodyamic area
* Analyses within the hydrostatic area
* Calculations of speed and range performance
* Coordination of concept development for surface ships
* Preararing as well as holding presentations for customers and colleagues
Your profile
To be successful in this role, you need to have the ability to both create a holistic view and to go down to the level of detail. We are looking for you who are self driven and can manage your daily work in an independent way.
Required skills:
*
Masters degree in Naval Architecture or equivalent
*
Recently graduated or with a few years of relevant experience in shipbuilding depending on if you aspire for a junior or senior role
*
Excellent communication skills in Swedish and English, verbal and written
Desired skills:
* Knowledge and experience in ship building especially concept development
* Knowledge and experience in operation of naval ships
* Experience from coordinating/keeping projects together and preferably project management on a smaller scale
This position requires that you will be approved in a security screening in accordance with the Swedish Protective Security Act.
What you will be a part of
Kockums, a business area within Saab, provides design, construction and in-service support for advanced naval systems such as surface combatants and submarines to the Swedish Armed Forces and other customers worldwide. Our product portfolio consist of the air-independent Stirling system, mine countermeasure systems and submarine rescue systems amongst other. Kockums operate in Karlskrona, Malmö, Muskö, Järfälla and Singapore.
You will be a member of the Naval Architecture Department. The department technology area comprises development and analyses of the overall ship layout, speed and range, hydrodynamic and hydrostatic properties. The department works with both surface ships and submarines however the roll is more focused towards surface ships. You will be part of a team who like to collaborate and learn from each other. You report to Head of Naval Architecture.
