Life Sciences delivers breakthroughs in drug discovery, biopharmaceutical manufacturing and the latest in cellular technologies, so scientists and specialists around the world discover new ways to predict, diagnose and treat disease earlier. The Life Sciences business also makes systems and equipment for the purification of biopharmaceuticals.

Role Summary:
As a Sales Specialist you will be responsible for driving the sales and profit of a defined product range, focused on increasing revenue by generating sales from new and existing customers through providing specialist knowledge of the product range. The product range is Amersham Imager CCD cameras and Typhoon laser-based imagers and their associated consumables.

Essential Responsibilities:
You will be working in a team consisting of Specialists for different research system towards Protein purifications and analytics, Account managers are in the wider team responsible for the different customer segments. Region is Nordic so covering Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Baltics and Iceland.

• Sales Revenues/Budgets - Meet/Exceed sales targets through driving the sales of the defined instrumentation and associated product range which in this role will be our camera and imager products

• Sales Strategy- Develop a strategy/plan for the defined product range to differentiate position and protect the Life Sciences business, towards a sustainable competitive advantage.

• Know key decision-makers, sources of funding, credit-worthiness, competitor 'SWOT', and market trends

• Product Support - Execute successful product demonstrations, internal and external training, seminars, workshops and promotional activities

• Business/Markets - Drive and initiate development of new business opportunities working with the Strategic Account Managers and other Sales Specialists to obtain maximum synergy across the business focused on the protein sciences workflow

• Forecasting- Accurately forecast sales and growth opportunities within the designated territory, using sales tools and applications provided by the company. Prepare and participate in business reviews/forecasts to ensure a constant flow of information between the territory/key accounts, and the Company

Qualifications/Requirements:
• Education - University level degree in a Life Sciences related discipline, and possibly MBA or PhD level or an equivalent qualification gained working in the Life Science Industry, plus minimum 18 months' experience selling in the Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical or R&D markets

• Background/training in protein science or life science products

• Experience understanding customer needs and business drivers and using this knowledge to develop sales

• Self-starter able to manage time and organize and prioritize workload, especially as a Sales Specialist is expected to be in the field travelling within the region most of the week (80% of work time) making customers calls and recording contacts and outcomes. Likely overnight stay 2-3 nights biweekly

• Excellent interpersonal skills including, team working skills and good communication skills

• Persistence and tenacity in developing prospects and customers, and able to close business

• Strong presentation, analytical and customer service skills
