We are now looking for a Safety Coordinator who shares our passion for safety and wants to continue developing the safety work at the Bohus site.
Responsibilities
As Safety Coordinator in Bohus you coordinate and develop safety work at the site in line with AkzoNobel HSE strategy and relevant legislation. You identify and evaluate HSE and risk issues and opportunities, make suggestions for improvement, and stimulate and support the organization in the implementation.
Your main responsibilities are:
• Analyze safety incidents and near misses and develop recommendations to improve performance
• Be updated on work legislation and interpret laws, regulations and agreements on working activities
• Develop and maintain the emergency plan and fire prevention plan for the Bohus site
• Responsible contact with the fire brigade authorities and manage permits for flammables
• Ensure transfer of HSE knowledge, requirements and best practices within the company
• Plan and participate in information and training of safety issues
• Provide active contribution to site?s safety improvement plan, in line with the objectives of the business unit.
• Support line managers with the investigation, reporting and follow-up action of safety incidents, employing root cause analysis tools
• Be the coordinator/ representative in relevant associations and local groups for safety related issues
Qualifications
We expect applicants to have a technical/scientific education specializing in working environment/safety engineering and good knowledge of working environment and fire legislation. You have at least 5 years? relevant experience and are familiar with investigating incidents and near misses as well as management systems for safety and health. Previous experience from chemical process industry is very beneficial.
To succeed in this role you also need to be fluent in Swedish and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to create good relations on all levels. You are a structured and responsible person who is not afraid to take initiatives and push your issues forward. You also like being in a supporting role and strive to deliver high quality results with a clear safety approach.
