The Department of Materials and Environmental Chemistry (MMK) is one of the largest departments at the Faculty of Natural sciences with about 150 employees. The research activities of MMK are in the areas of Materials and Solid-state Chemistry focusing on different classes of materials; e.g. solid state chemistry, materials chemistry, modern characterization techniques. The main research areas include porous mateirals, bio-based materials and electron microscopy.
Project description
The position will be associated with the project Nanoporous polymer membrane-templated carbon nanostructures for energy application. The project aims to convert nanoporous polymer membranes into heteroatom-doped porous cabrons, and the usage of such carbon nanostructures in electrocatalysis.
Main responsibilities
The position involves research in the synthesis and farbication of nanoporous polymer membranes, optimization of the cabronization process, characterization of nanoporous carbon products, installation of an electrochemical station, and tests of porous carbons in electrocatalysis.
Qualification requirements
Researchers are appointed primarily for purposes of research and must hold a Swedish doctoral degree or an equivalent degree from another country.
Assessment criteria
The PhD degree should have been completed more than four years before the deadline for applications.
Terms of employment
The position involves full-time employment for a maximum of one year, with the possibility of extension if there are special reasons. Start date July 1, 2018 or by agreement.
