Strong research and attractive study programmes attract scientists and students from around the world. With new knowledge and new perspectives, the University contributes to a better future.
At the Department of Chemistry and Molecular Biology, research and postgraduate studies are conducted in a wide area that extends all the way from atomic and molecular scales through cells to whole organisms. Much of the phenomena studied have an impact on our natural environment and living systems. We participate in education at basic level within the programs of Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Biology, Marine Sciences and Pharmacy Program.
Information about the research group:
Our atmospheric science constellation is unique in Sweden in that it takes a molecular approach to transport and reaction processes in the atmosphere. A unifying focus is the study of aerosols, with activities ranging from fundamental studies of chemical reactions on the molecular level, to applied work including field studies of atmospheric processes, their importance to current climate and air quality research. The research contributes to developments in the fields of colloidal chemistry, nanotechnology, medicine as well as development of traffic related chemistry and sustainable development in developing countries.
More details on our research can be found at

Research in the topic of transformation of atmospheric soot particles. The experimental studies will be carried out at our soot transformation laboratory equipped with the state of the art instrumentation, i.e. flow-tube and soot spectrometer, aerodynamic aerosol classifier and other supporting instruments. The appointed researcher will have to carry out experiments, maintain instruments, do data analysis and write papers. The work involves a great deal of analysis and evaluation of measurement data for the understanding and quantification of soot transformation and interlinked changes in the properties. In addition to work in Sweden one is expected to participate in our international collaboration projects, currently via photochemical smog project in China.
Qualifications
To qualify as a researcher, the applicant must have completed a Swedish doctoral degree or must have a foreign degree corresponding to a Swedish doctoral degree.
