Our Exciting Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced researcher working back office with concept development and as a future delegate for 3GPP RAN2, RAN3 and/or RAN4 standardization together with rest of the respective standardization teams!
The successful candidate has competence in Layer 1, Layer 2 and Layer 3 aspects of the radio interface, and the RAN architecture. The mission will be to take part in the evolution of the 3GPP standards as a member of a back-office team, with an option to work as a 3GPP delegate in the future. That means that you run studies that will be used during the 3GPP meetings to drive Ericsson's aspects and strategy of the standard development for the LTE and NR standards during the 3GPP meetings.
The section you will be working in has delegates in all RAN working groups and is staffing Backoffice teams in a variety of WI/SI areas within 3GPP. We are a diverse group of openminded people positioned both within and outside of Sweden with the majority positioned in Stockholm/Kista.
You will
Perform studies related to 3GPP work and study items.
Bring forward new innovations and ideas that will drive the Ericsson technical leadership.
Prepare contributions for 3GPP RAN2, RAN3 and/or RAN4 meetings.
Ensure synchronization between Ericsson products and the 3GPP standard regarding functionality and performance, in cooperation with product management and product development.
Cooperate with Ericsson Research, Ericsson Technical Management, Product Line and external cooperation partners.
Represent Ericsson as a delegate in future 3GPP meetings.
Report to the Research Leader - 3GPP Standardization BA Networks
To be successful in the role you must have
MSc degree at minimum in a technical discipline or the equivalent level of knowledge
Experience in working with 3GPP standardization
A high level of Mobile Network understanding
Knowledge and experience about standardization work in general
Well-developed understanding of working in early phases of system development
Very good communication skills
Proven leadership skills
Excellent English skills
Lean & Agile Knowledge and skills is beneficial
