Performance is one of the three sub business units within AkzoNobel Pulp and Performance Chemicals. We operate four product lines: Expancel, Levasil, Kromasil and Fine Chemicals. Fine Chemicals are the world's leading producer of chemically pure alkali - sodium and potassium hydroxide pellets and Potassium Chlorate with a global reputation for quality and reliability. Our products are strategic raw material for our customers to ensure premium quality manufacturing processes and products. The products are sold via a global network of distributor as well as direct to end-users. We are now looking for a Regional Sales & Marketing Manager since our current will retire during 2018.
About the position
As our Regional Sales & Marketing Manager you will develop and grow new and existing customers within the assigned regions in line with budget and business plan. You will be responsible for all sales activities within the assigned regions and work with execution of our global market strategy and coordinate its regional deployment. You will be part of a small team that consists of other sales managers and with tight connection to our product manager, quality assurance and production team.
Main duties and responsibilities
Define long and short term sales objectives for the region that are aligned with the business targets
Negotiate volumes and prices with customers according to budget frame and pricing strategy
Maintain, foster and develop business relationships with dedicated customers and distributors within the regions to emphasize the long term perspective of the business
Overlook and coordinate the choice of distributors in order to maximize the sales efficiency
Assure that agreements with end-users and distributors are in place and follow the company directives
Push opportunities through our sales funnel and follow up on payment terms and overdues
Manage and maintain our business system and planning tools
With the market knowledge from the region, actively support in the development of marketing materials and activities
Academic degree in Business Administration or commercial management with a strong technical background or equivalent
5 years working experience in international marketing and sales of speciality products
Profound knowledge and experience of working within, or towards regulated industries such as pharma, food, and cosmetics, and being aware of its industry standards
Strong communication skills, both oral and in writing, in Swedish, English and preferably another foreign language
As a person you are proactive, self-motivated and thorough with an interest in building networks as well as working cross-culturally. You are confident in your own expertise and have a strong drive to deliver results while maintaining a high quality and safety standards. You have excellent negotiation and communication skills and the ability to clearly set the direction on how to fulfil your targets. With your analytical skills you execute activities to assure sustainable growth of the business. You have the ability and desire to work across functions and in a global environment and are willing to travel, up to 30% of your time.
