At Strategic Research, which is a group function, we tailor new materials to customer needs and makes sure Alleima is ahead of the curve to support existing and new customer needs. We have a strong research portfolio and excellent materials characterization capabilities to serve this purpose.
Your Role
The unit Physical Metallurgy, which is an integral part of Strategic Research Labs, alongside the units Mechanical Testing and Corrosion Research, operates in several technology areas, such as Electron Microscopy, Surface analysis, XRD and Physical properties is looking for a new R&D Manager. As R&D manager you are responsible for the operation and development of your team. To be successful, your focus will be on several items which all are vital for our ability to deliver to our clients, here are some examples:
• Ensure great environment, health, and safety in our workplace.
• Strategic planning of competence, method development and Investments, etc.
• Operational excellence, including team- and client collaboration.
• Engage in technical discussions with the team and its clients.
About You
Your educational background is MSc or PhD in the Science of Materials, Physics or Chemistry. You have a passion for materials characterization and an acumen to lead a team of 11 highly skilled engineers and laboratory technicians. It is a strong merit if you have solid experience in one or several of the technology areas we use in our work. You are proficient in the Swedish language and since we operate on the global stage, your English skills must be excellent.
We are sincerely interested in your personality - The position will include extensive collaboration with skilled staff in the Strategic Research function as well as with the R&D units organized in the divisions of Tube and Strip respectively. You need to present a well-developed self-esteem and it is a merit if you have experience from leading teams with many stakeholders and experience from leading in change is advantageous since we constantly need to adapt to changing demands. Additionally, you are structured and have a good sense of involving staff and peers in your work.
