As an R&D Engineer we need you to strengthen our Power Technology Section working to develop and use new technology in the Distribution system towards better and more efficient control of power system components, Micro Grid, understanding new components of grids, grid codes, and overview of the Grid.

Your responsibilities as R&D Engineer
The competence here needed is an Electrical Engineer with a control and power system profile. The competence is very important in the coming years for Vatten¬fall since the need to support Business Area Distribution with analysis and research around subjects such as; power system analysis, control, SCADA system, Micro Grid, flexible loads and reduce the costs for maintenance. The position is to support Business Area Distribution in enabling Vattenfall improving their reliability indexes such as SAIDI, increasing the grid capacity in the coming years and to be a digital Distribution System Operator (DSO).
Your qualifications and personal skills as R&D Engineer
Necessary qualifications are; knowledge about power system analysis and simulation. Capability in using different power system simulators. You should have capability of being a project leader and be communicative and have a passion to deliver.
You hold a university degree in M.Sc. Electrical Engineering, Physics; Power Technology or similar. Experience from the energy industries is advantageous. Fluency in English is a prerequisite, a good command of Swedish is desirable.
You are analytical, committed and self-driven with good communication and interpersonal skills. You are able to develop rough ideas and ambitions into concrete and successful projects. As the work involves extensive interaction both internally and with external partners and suppliers, a good understanding of commercial aspects and an ability to establish and maintain relationships and networks is key.
A passion for new technology we believe is a necessity for this role.
