Purchasing Program Manager, Volvo Cars Purchasing

Volvo Cars Purchasing is ultimately responsible for the selection of all Volvo Cars' suppliers and has the responsibility for the procurement of all production material and services to Volvo Cars. The supply of materials and services- to the right quality, in the right quantity and on time- is essential to the smooth running of the company and to match our customer's expectations.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of the car programs from a Purchasing perspective. It is critical that candidates are able to combine leading a highly motivated team with working in a very demanding atmosphere in order to deliver flawless execution of new products.

The primary role of the Program Manager within the Program Management is to ensure that the Purchasing Milestone deliverables for the respective area (Body&Trim, EESE, Chassis, Powertrain) are met and that the requirements are effectively communicated to and executed by the Purchasing Line Organizations.

Job Profile:
• Ensure that the Purchasing Milestone deliverables according to our Global Product Development System are met and report these in the related project forums.
• Ensure that all prerequisites for Purchasing are available on time and that the Purchasing activities are reflected in the overall project time plan.
• Proactively drive, steer and report purchasing project activities to the line organizations for Program related issues.
• Communicate Program information, such as program timing, program volume- and capacity prerequisites and supplier performance to the Line Organizations.
• Steer and follow-up with the Line Organizations to reach Quality, Cost and Delivery targets in respective projects.
• Support Purchasing Line organizations in Activities/Program Routines/Processes
• Participate in Development and Implementation of Purchasing Program Processes when required.

Your profile:
• Educated to University level and/or long experience in Purchasing Project work
• Good project management and analytical skills
• Experience from the automotive industry
• Strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
• Result oriented and able to show drive and creativity
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
