The Project Management Office department is responsible for the project development process within Connected Solutions. Its main task is to secure the deliveries according to commitment. We work in close collaboration across Connected Solutions and with the Volvo Group Business Areas.
PMO department consists of four functions; project portfolio, order office, project quality assurance and project management, approx. 30 people. We are a team of strong and engaged leaders with passion for people, leadership and continuous improvements.
We are in a transition of change to further improve the PMO together with our development departments' within agile software development. We are looking forward you joining us in our agile journey.
Position Description
The Project Management Office department is looking for a business oriented Project Portfolio Manager with a history of delivering global and challenging programs / projects to be responsible for Connected Solution's global project portfolio/s
As the Project Portfolio Manager you will be responsible for the global portfolio and occasionally act as project manager for some initiatives. Your will be an active and integral part of the daily work performed in the projects.
This role is accountable for overseeing the activities and coordinating the efforts of complex programs / projects while ensuring industry best practices and methodologies are consistently defined, communicated, and deployed within the Project Management life cycles.
In your role you will be a member of the Project Management Office management team and report to the Head of Project Management Office.
Key Responsibilities
As Project Portfolio Manager, your key responsibilities are:
Manage, drive and control portfolio of selected projects and prioritize within the portfolio
Responsible for overall coordination, status reporting and stability of project oriented work within a portfolio
Support project leaders in implementing the projects within the portfolio
Communicate expectations and directions with regards to budget, project portfolio plans, KPI follow ups and ongoing status
Ensure that the projects are executed according to Connected Solutions methods & standards for Project Management
Financial result within the portfolio as well as within the own line budget
Member in VGCS Project Reference group
Contribute to the establishment of a common set of PMO practices, tools and templates for portfolio, program and project level management
Additional responsibilities:
Developing a process and reporting structure for the portfolios together with its peer

Competence Profile & Qualifications
Documented Program / Senior Project Management experience in complex and global environments
Experience from software engineering and agile development
Experience from global organizations with strong customer focus
Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast paced, multicultural and diverse environment
As person you have a positive attitude, with a strong customer focus and prioritize the business need rather than your own prestige
Have capacity to execute on challenging set targets and having a "can do" attitude
You enjoy teamwork, contribute to the team spirit and you enjoy taking responsibilities

Documented leadership with the emphasis on the ability to inspire, develop and motivate individuals and teams
