Job description

The project will deliver functionality within the Connected Car IT Solution portfolio, which is one of the main focus areas at Volvo Cars Corporation (VCC). Focus is on delivering the next generation of connected vehicles and services. The Volvo Cars Group IT, Connected Car IT Service development delivers several projects and have a high level of complexity including coordination between other IT projects and other Business & Car functions.

Expected duties Responsibility for all aspects of the project over the entire life (initiate, plan, execute, control and close). Must be familiar with system scope and project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member, to effectively coordinate the activities of the team. Responsible for assembling project team, assigning individual responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources needed, and developing schedule and budget to ensure timely completion of project. Communicate with the PMO (Project Management Office), sponsor, steering committee and the overall program manager and when needed other stakeholders regarding status of the project. Reports status on weekly basis. During the lifecycle of the project have responsibility for producing the various artefacts and documents defined in the Project Management Framework according to the processes used at Volvo Cars (VCC ODGF and DITS). Interfaces with all areas affected by the project including end users, distributors and vendors. Ensures adherence to quality standards and review of project deliverables. Expectations also include the ability to drive initial requirement analysis together with major stakeholders.

Additional Skills Preferred

Knowledge of Volvo Cars processes and tools. IT background and knowledge. Certification within PMI or IPMA preferred.

Experience Required

Documented (more than six years) experience from leading large projects or programs, involving all phases (Initiate to Close) and all project management knowledge areas. Experience within mobile application development and delivery. Experience of managing several suppliers in an overall solution delivery. Experience within distributed cloud solutions.

Additional Experience Preferred

Previous experience of VCC or similar environments with high degree of organizational complexity. Experience of working with service establishment of software and infrastructure platforms.

Education Required

Bachelor's degree or equivalent. Project Management Professional (PMP®) or equivalent.
