Platform Development is a function within Global Product Development (GPD) at Volvo Buses. The main sites are located in Sweden and Brazil and are responsible for developing platform solutions within the areas of Chassis, Body in white, Body, Powertrain and Electrical. The Project Office is responsible for delivering the engineering part of our main projects and reports to Platform Development.
This is Project Management & Vehicle Architecture!
Through strong technical leadership, we lead the development of bus chassis and complete vehicles as well as complete vehicles for Volvo Buses and are accountable for the engineering deliverables in those product projects. We are a high performing, professional team of project managers serving the Platform Development for Volvo Buses globally. Our PME's (Project Manager Engineering) are the captains leading the development teams to success and with new challenging development projects in pipeline our project management team needs to expand with additional project managers.
Key responsibilities:
A PME is responsible from project initiation to project closure for the following main activities and deliveries, in line with agreed product QDCF targets:
Lead the engineering project team
Optimize and consolidate the overall technical development cost and product cost
Technical concepts are developed cross functionally with active risk management to secure uptime for our customers running the buses 15 hours per day 365 days a year
Establish project time plans and execute all activities needed to ensure fully verified and validated components, systems and functions
Report to the CPM in the project dimension and to concerned reference groups in the line dimension
As a team member, contribute in harmonization and development of processes, methods, tools and standards
The position is located in Gothenburg and includes occasional travelling.

Project Manager Engineering (PME)

Qualifications
Engineering degree (BSc or MSc)
Minimum 8 years of experience leading product development projects as Commodity PM and/or CPM
PMP certification or corresponding project management certification is a strong merit
We focus on product quality and experience from that area is a merit
Knowledge, experience and interest in automotive technology is a strong merit
Very strong leadership skills as defined by the PM Pipeline
Fluent in Swedish and English, French is a merit
