About the Unit for Bioentrepreneurship (UBE)
The Unit for Bioentrepreneurship (UBE) conducts research on and education in innovation and entrepreneurship.

As an academic unit at Karolinska Institutet (KI), UBE can be considered as the first proactive link in KI's innovation system.

A two-year global Master's programme is offered at the unit, together with programme elective and single subject courses. UBE is the KI node of the Stockholm School of Entrepreneurship (an academic collaboration between KI, the Stockholm School of Economics, the Royal Institute of Technology, the University College of Arts, Crafts and Design, and Stockholm University) providing interdisciplinary education. UBE is also involved in a number of educational projects funded by EU. With the help of these projects, KI wants to encourage students, researchers and others to develop an innovative and entrepreneurial mindset and approach.

We are looking for a motivated and responsible team player, who will further develop the practice-oriented and joint educational activities of UBE. You have an innovative and open minded attitude towards your work and work environment and a passion for education, entrepreneurship and innovation, especially in the medical and healthcare field.

Assignments

- Develop the content for a SPOC (small private online course) focusing on Customer insights and validation: Design outline, develop content such as scripts and reading material, develop learning objectives etc.
- Design and develop a "simulation game" (interactive teaching case) to be incorporated in the SPOC: collection of data (literature review and interviews with companies using design methodologies), analysis and development/writing of the case.
- Hosting workshops in design methodology such as Design Thinking, providing knowledge of innovation processes and entrepreneurship to students of all levels and/or teachers from the study fields of KI.

Entry requirements
Qualifications required for the position

- A university degree (Master degree or higher)
- Education in design methodologies (with academic credits)
- Education in project management (with certificate)
- Proficient English, both orally and in writing

Documented knowledge, skills and abilities required for the position

- Experience of Design Thinking facilitation
- Experience of teaching and education in English
- Experience from managing design projects with external partners
- Professional background in the field of design, industrial design etc.
- Work experience in diverse settings (e.g. university, corporate, entrepreneurial)

Experience desired for the position

- Professional background in the medicine field, biomedical sciences or such is considered an advantage

Since the position involves close interaction with several different stakeholders, emphasis is placed on personal skills such as:

- Interpersonal, collaborative and communication skills
- Pedagogic and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently
- Feeling comfortable speaking to all levels of staff and collaborators at all levels of the organization and people with diverse cultural backgrounds
