The purpose of this role is to ensure the successful execution of projects within Rolling Stock Equipment (ROQ) Energy & Motion in Västerås.
The ROQ Project manager, adjacent ROQ functions and internal- and external customers are the receivers of the result produced by the People reporting to the Project Engineering Manager.
To meet the purpose the Project Engineering Manager is to lead a team of relevant competencies for the task and organize this team in an as relevant as possible way.
The Project Engineering Manager is supported by the line organization's guidelines on project organization and working methods.
All of the above must be achieved with respect to the overall time plan and budget of the project.
Your Responsibilities
1.Allocate resources in a balanced manner to best support the order projects as a portfolio and drive for continues improvement of the processes used to execute the projects. All engineering disciplines have its own processes, but it is the task of the Project Engineering Manager to make sure the all fit together as well as identifying improvement needs in certain areas.
2. Driving local Engineering Control Board meetings (ECB) making sure all ongoing projects have an applicable amount of Management governance attached to them, for example:
• Financial status, ODC and ENG hrs (As Sold, EAC, BTG) including the relationship to quality and time.
• Change management vs As Sold.
• Progress status for key deliverables.
• Project phase status.
3.Represent ROQ/P Product Engineering MPP in the ROQ Project reviews making sure adequate attention is given to the ongoing projects.
4. Being part of the ROQ/E&M Local (Västerås) Management Team working with planning, governance and continues improvement on that level.
5. To ensure that conditions for project team members support their successful contribution. This includes but is not limited to:
• Ensuring overall project targets are known (Scope, time and cost)
• Ensuring each team member is clear on their expected contribution (Scope, time and cost)
• Engaging in creating a positive and result oriented atmosphere in the team
• Seeking support from the line organization in case competence or capacity does not suffice
• Addressing obstacles to flawless project execution as they arise.
Qualifications
• Bachelors or Master's Degree in preferably Engineering.
6-8 years of relevant work experience with a BSc degree, 4-6 years relevant work experience with Master's degree
• Competence and experience of propulsion system design combined with competence and experience of project management is highly desirable.
• A track record of successful stakeholder management.
• Fluent in English and Swedish preferred.
