HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) is a business unit within Hitachi Energy, located in Ludvika. The unit develops, manufactures and sells DC transmission systems on a global market. HVDC technology is used to transmit electricity over long distances and for power transmission via submarine cables. HVDC is also used to connect power grids, e.g., between countries.

The HVDC Valve Assembly team is on an exciting journey of scaling in the coming years. We are looking for a Production Engineering Manager to lead the team of strategic production engineers and project managers for production development projects for our global factories. You play a vital role in ensuring that this growth journey is guided by effective leadership and strategic decision-making. As a Production Engineering Manager, you manage the team of 10 people, however we expect to recruit and grow the team and our expertise in the following years. You report to the Global Manufacturing Platform- and Development Manager.
Your responsibilities
Manage a team of 10 strategic production engineers and project managers for production development projects, but also grow the department and recruit new talents.
Lead by example as a role model for your team, embodying Hitachi Energy's Leadership Pillars, which include embracing our vision, fostering collaboration, delivering on promises, and nurturing the growth of individuals.
Support business scaling and strategic initiatives, develop the team and competencies to meet the challenges going forward.
Support project managers with PMO capabilities, structure, and routines to enhance project management abilities and project execution.
Engage with the management team on strategic direction, prioritization of projects and ensure the project execution and deliveries to support factory and business targets.
Identify factory investment needs, prepare and manage parts of the global CAPEX budget related to medium and large-scale investment projects.

Your background
Your personal qualities are vital for success! You have great self-drive, never doubt acting and continuously seek knowledge and answers. Strong analytical skills for informed decision-making are also advantageous in this position.
Minimum 5 years as a team manager or in a leadership context as a project manager for large, complex projects, managing resources and teams.
Technical expertise from industry or an academic engineering degree to understand product development and production. Experience from Production Development, Lean Principles, Automation, Digitalization and AI is an advantage to make sure the factories are equipped to meet the future of manufacturing.
Project Management Expertise: Documented experience leading large projects, making you capable of coaching, and transferring project management knowledge and execution structures to the team.
As a leader you enjoy and demonstrate ability to lead, influence, and inspire others in a fast-moving environment. You create working structures for yourself and the team, to make sure you meet and deliver defined results.
Proficient in change management and time management, both personally and when coaching.
Fluency in English and Swedish is required.
