Core News Product (CNP) is Schibsted Media's common publishing product platform, residing in the Shared Products & Platforms organisation (SPP). CNP Web is building the common web platform that is the foundation for all of Schibsted's publications. It's an audacious and fun project with good velocity and high impact.

In this role you will be part of a professional Product & Tech organisation and work with many skilled developers, PM's and UX experts all across News Media.

Your main goal as the CNP web platform PM is to enable the team to deliver the highest possible value to the Schibsted News brands and the users of the web platform. You'll get to work with an engaged and highly skilled team of engineers, building a platform for collaboration. You are directly impacting how Schibsted's product- and tech teams can work together to solve problems. We aim to enable teams to experiment, collaborate smart, and learn faster together.

We're looking for an experienced product manager that will help to build and scale our web platform as the main foundation for all web applications in Schibsted News Media, and at the same time positively impact the foundations of our native apps.

Responsibilities include:

Continuously make sure that we drive success, based on a long term strategic vision and clear product strategy

Make sure we keep track and act on KPI's that are crucial for the success of our team and the teams using our platform (In example: developer experience, and performance of our platform)

Make sure the team can work with focus towards crystal clear priorities, while balancing user needs, business needs, editorial requirements and technical considerations.

Engaging with our different stakeholders on a regular basis - gathering input, communicating progress, setting expectations

Driving and facilitating planning and execution of bigger projects and initiatives by the team (project management)

Contributing in the larger context of our Product & Tech organisation, making sure that dependencies with other teams are clear and we team up towards shared priorities productively

Looking after the well-being of the team together with your Tech Lead & Engineering Manager

We expect that you..

Think it would be a really fun challenge to build out and scale a web platform that drives increased business value for our media brands, while maintaining an excellent developer experience for all in Schibsted using the platform.

Have a strong sense of ownership and take responsibility for the success of the team.

Have wide experience (+5 years) working with digital products, and preferably web platforms used by developers to create web products with.

Have an ability to take smart risks and champion new ideas, using a data-informed and agile approach.

Have experience guiding continuous improvement of process and technology.

Have great communication abilities and can communicate clearly and constantly with individuals, teams, and stakeholders.

Have the ability to thrive on a high level of autonomy and responsibility.

Have some experience working in or managing distributed teams. After Covid-19 restrictions are lifted, some travelling is also required to meet members of your distributed team and stakeholders face to face in Norway, Sweden and Poland.




Product & Tech is responsible for product development in News Media. The unit consists of product managers, software engineers, UX experts, and user researchers. A big part of our work is developing joint technology platforms for Schibsted's news brands. These include platforms for content production and distribution, digital subscriptions, and advertising. Most of our teams work distributed, with colleagues in Oslo, Stockholm, Krakow, Gdansk, Bergen, and Stavanger.
