The mission of the Strategy team is to explore new avenues of growth and business opportunities and elevate Truecaller as the most recognized and consumed brand underlining our core values of safety and efficiency.
The Product Director is contributing to the strategy and managing the backlog of the product (or parts of the product). The Product Director works as a liaison between and within the strategy team and other stakeholders within and outside the organization, to make sure that the right things are built according to general product and company goals and priorities, and the quality is optimized.
Responsibilities:
Work with the product manager to setup the vision and the strategy of the new product initiatives, in line with the general product and company vision
Define product vision, and work closely with Architects and Software Engineering to oversee and approve product designs, enhancements, and quality.
In an organized way foster innovation within the team and prepare for the needed ground research to motivate new bets and initiatives
Manage relationships with external stakeholders such as partners and deepen the relationships through new product offerings and development
Contribute and channel the ideas of the team and the input from the various stakeholders in the organization
Manage the product backlog, ensuring the quality of its content, its transparency to others in the organization and its prioritization
Always making sure the team builds the right things, by understanding and communicating priorities and solving dependencies with other teams
Setup analytics processes around the product and make sure the development priorities are set so the product KPIs improve over time
Constantly monitoring the progress and looking for ways to improve the product
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, drive alignment between teams, making sure the teams collaboratively contribute to the company and product goals
Work with Marketing & Customer Support teams to ensure that the product story, market research and the support initiatives are well coordinated with the release process
Participate in the evolution of the agile process together with the development teams
Consistently manage stakeholder expectations.
Maintain and improve professional and functional knowledge.
Goals and expected outcome:
The Product Director goal is, together with the team, to effectively translate the product area's mission to features that solve real users' problems and, by always prioritizing the right things, to deliver high quality product that users love.
Metrics:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience required.
7+ years of relevant experience in a software development organization required. Product Manager/Product Owner experience a plus.
Experience with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) required.
Needed competencies/experience:
Passionate about great products, new technologies, changes, dynamics and smart teams that make a difference
Experience in moving between wide objectives and moving to a narrowed down scope
Fast learning ability is crucial to be able to perform well in a team that is motivated by innovation and pushing boundaries
Engineering background
Experience in working with teams on different levels of maturity
Understanding technical challenges of building large-scale, distributed systems and being comfortable in facilitating technical discussions and decisions within and outside the team
Able to identify risks and suggest strategies for alleviating them
Data oriented, able to identify what data needs to be collected, what metrics needs to be tracked, and how patterns can be discovered and fed back into the product
Knowledgeable and experienced with Agile frameworks and Agile practices, rules, roles and artifacts
Excellent verbal and written communication in English
