You will report directly to our Game Director and you will be a big part of contributing with new product visions for our games.

Our studio is located in central Uppsala, Sweden which is a small and vibrant city 30 minutes north of the capital Stockholm. It has a historical heritage reaching back to pre-medieval times.
MachineGames is a part of Zenimax Media inc. and Microsoft, alongside sister studios Alpha Dog games, Arkane studios, Bethesda game studios, Id Software, Roundhouse Studios, Tango Gameworks, and ZeniMax Online Studios.

This is a permanent position starting as soon as possible. We will support your relocation and/or application for work permit if you have are not an EU citizen and/or not currently residing in Sweden.

Responsibilities
Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Work with the Game Director / Executive Producer to come up with an ambitious product vision for our games.
Ensure that delegated elements of the vision, owned by the EP/GD, are executed upon, and followed through via strong collaboration within the relevant design leads. Work with the team to translate that vision into engaging and high-quality features.
Work closely with Tools and Technology team to develop the tools and pipelines used by the Level Design team.
Should be able to switch context swiftly and multi-task; able to work across multiple games as needed
Able to identify and troubleshoot problem areas within a game, to identify clearly where the problems lie and how they can be improved.
Responsible for creating and/or improving complex mechanics and/or systems with attention to the player impacts, and the downstream effects on both the game and on the development team, technical constraints and performance targets. (in collaboration with leads and directors)
Creates high-level principles and best practices for future Level Design work.
Skills and Experiences
Should be an expert in many areas of game and level design.
Should be able to articulate with strong written and verbal communication skills
Should be able to create and provide multiple potential designs and solutions, articulating the trade-offs and risks between the different options
Should be comfortable operating in an ambiguous environment, where goals and constraints are mostly team driven and where change is a critical part of the process.
Should have the confidence and experience to self-manage and self-motivate
Experience of concepting and creating a game and/or features from first ideas.
Should have experience in a senior design position or similar in multiple full development cycle AAA productions.
